BSCN – Centre for International Forestry Research, Bogor, Indonesia

I am in my third co-op term, and I am a research intern at the Center for International Forestry Research at Bogor, Indonesia. I am part of the Climate Change, Energy and Low-Carbon Development team working under the global comparative study on REDD+ project. This project focuses on policy network analysis, which requires interviews with actors, both government and non-government, at the national level. So far, I have been taught how to conduct interviews professionally, how the questionnaire that we used come to be, and the importance of our study to the future of REDD+ program in Indonesia. Also, I will have the chance to analyze the data from the interviews using UCINET. Not only has this been a fantastic opportunity to be part of a national-level research study in Indonesia, but this has also been a great experience that allows me to apply and build upon the knowledge I have gained in classrooms and from my previous job placements. This co-op term has helped give a more definite direction for my future career.
